Copper Desert -Missions and Goals
Copper Desert was established as a Web Design company that provides inexpensive web sites for small businesses in the Las Vegas area. However, inexpensive does not mean cheap. Our goal is to charge reasonable prices while still providing professional and eyecatching web sites.
We will stick to the latest guidelines in web site design by sticking to CSS formats and tableless layouts. Flash design, which is taking the web design business by storm, can be incorporated into the site as well. Copper Desert will endeavour to create sites that will grow with the customer and expand our business by word of mouth from satisfied clients.

Rick Cantrell, the webmaster for Copper Desert, LLC, is a 30 year Information Technology professional. He started out in the United States Air Force in 1975 as a computer operator working with Burroughs mainframes. He took this experience and went to work in Computer Operations for the City of Las Vegas in 1979.
Rick worked his way up to Senior Computer Operator in two years and to Computer Operations Supervisor where he filled that position for 17 years. The job included 24 hour supervision over the mainframe operations of the City. It also included doing budgets for the division, oversight of supplies and materials for Operations, supervision of Client Support and the Scan Center, and helping design an extensive network of mainframe terminals and printers. He designed training and SOP websites with raw HTML and Microsoft Front Page for Operations.
While working at City Hall, Rick also received two college degrees. He has an Associates in Applied Science in Computing and Information Technology from CCSN. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from UNLV.
In 2005 he retired from City Hall and went to school at UNLV to earn a Web Design Certificate. This certificate program includes formal training in the latest web design techniques including CSS layouts, Flash design, XHTML training, Search Engine Optimization, and graphics. This background in the computer field gives Copper Desert a leg up on the competition.
